Resort plans under review

A Tempe-based firm wants to bring a 220-acre residential resort to northeast Cave Creek. The project, called Enchanted Canyon Resort, includes single-family residential lots and a resort facility with a wellness spa and casitas. The plan also includes a plaza/amphitheater. LVA Urban Design Studio is requesting a General Plan amendment and rezoning of the property, which is zoned residential for lots of more than 4 acres. The project, at Continental Mountain Drive and 72nd Street, includes 30 single-family homesites ranging from 1 to 5 acres. Steven Voss, president of LVA Urban Design Studio, said this project has the lowest density of any resort he has worked on. He said his past projects have included a replanning of the Boulders Resort's community master plan and its casitas.
