Tom Lewis entered the home-building profession right after graduate school. After jobs in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia, he came to Phoenix in 1979 to work for UDC Homes. He stayed with UDC for six years, then joined Trammell Crow Co., bringing that company into the home-building business in the late 1980s. But Trammell Crow didn’t want to stay in that business, so Lewis bought it out in 1991 and created T.W. Lewis.
