Ritz-Carlton opens in Southern Arizona

They’re puttin’ on the Ritz in Marana. Friday marked the opening of the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain in Marana, just northwest of Tucson. The 250-room luxury hotel, located on 850 acres, features a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, a destination spa and luxury homes at the Residences at Dove Mountain. Allan Federer will serve as general manager. The hotel was developed by its owner, David Mehl of Cottonwood Properties. Attending Friday’s opening ceremonies were Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and Hank Biddle, senior vice president of operations for the Ritz- Carlton Hotel Co. LLC. The hotel is offering introductory rates starting at $259 a night. Ritz-Carlton, which operates 73 hotels around the world, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marriott International Inc.
