Start the Engines… for Eastmark

On Friday, May 18th, DMB Associates, along with community and government partners, economic development leaders and colleagues, broke ground for its newest community, Eastmark. Many prominent East Valley leaders were in attendance including Mesa Mayor Scott Smith, Councilman Alex Finter and Councilman Scott Somers. This important milestone for DMB is a positive indicator for Arizona’s recovering real estate market. President of DMB Associates, Charley Freericks, said, “the sounds of construction equipment signifies the start of the new heart and hub of the East Valley.” These first steps are taking place after years of planning and preparation for the property, including reclamation of recycling materials from the former General Motors Proving Grounds, such as miles of track and tons of building materials. Next steps involve building Eastmark’s community infrastructure including the streets, utilities and early amenities, to prepare for the future businesses and homebuilders who will begin building in the next year.
