Phoenix No. 2 spot for college grads

Phoenix may still be reeling from the housing crash and bum economy, but college graduates seem to think it’s the place to be. The city follows Atlanta to take second place, but makes the “Top 10 Best Cities for Recent College Graduates” put out by Apartments.com and CareerRookie.com. Denver, Dallas, Boston, Philadephia, New York, Cincinnati, Baltimore and Los Angeles round out the top 10. The online companies’ ranking compares the cost of renting an apartment, the concentration of young adults and the cities’ job inventory as of March, specifically jobs that require less than a year’s experience. About 200 major metros were considered. Helping Phoenix image for college grads is an average rent of $669 per month for a one-bedroom apartment, less than all of the cities but Cincinnati at $613 and well under the priciest cities of Los Angeles ($1,319) and New York ($1,366).
