Scottsdale panel awaits developer's proposal on luxury apartments

The Scottsdale Planning Commission and concerned residents will have to wait a while longer to find out what Gray Development Group has done to address the numerous concerns about its proposed luxury apartment complex just east of Scottsdale Fashion Square. In the meantime, developer Geoffrey Edmunds unexpectedly presented the commission with a master plan he designed with Davis Architecture to guide development of the acreage surrounding the existing Safari Drive buildings, including the site where Gray wants to build its complex. Edmunds is the developer of the Scottsdale Waterfront and has been hired to complete the Safari Drive condominiums. "I met with the adjoining property owners and got their endorsement to the plan that we designed," he said. "(We) have been opposing the (Gray) plan . . . because of the density of the project, the mass of the project."
