New Eloy foam plant promises 300 jobs

A new plastics plant to make foam tableware will provide 100 jobs with the possibility of major expansion. The city of Eloy and Republic Plastics announced Tuesday afternoon that the McQueeney, Texas-based company, founded in 1999, is acquiring an 85,000-square-foot plant. Republic said it has immediate plans to expand to 110,000 square feet, with “near-term expansion plans” for 300,000 square feet. The company said in the announcement that eventually there could be 300-plus jobs with “competitive salaries and benefits for employees and their families.” “The Eloy property will give Republic Plastics a lower freight cost and provide for further expansions going forward,” said Gino Inman, chairman, president and CEO. “The regional population base will provide more employment access to fit our needs. Altogether this site gives Republic Plastics capacity for our continued growth on the West Coast.”
