Decoding the countless housing reports

Every week it seems the Phoenix Business Journal receives a new housing report. We are sent reports from RealtyTrac, Zillow, S&P/Case Shiller, Zip Realty, Coldwell Banker, Arizona State University and then a host of local housing consultants. Sometimes it seems rather confusing, especially when reports seem to contradict each other. We assume that there are slightly different matrixes used that account for the differences. There’s also an element of bad data that slides through everything but the most meticulous data gathering. Here’s an informal attempt at consolidating the most recent information for easier reader consumption. (It’s been a busy week for housing reports).
