Shea Homes mulls solar options in wake of incentive cuts
Shea Homes, quick to join the solar revolution as a selling point for its products, is looking at options to continue those efforts in the wake of incentive cuts.
Salt River Project announced earlier this week it has a limited amount of money to fund incentives through April. Arizona Public Service Co. is waiting on approval from the Arizona Corporation Commission for its 2011 plan to start funding systems again.
Other builders did not immediately respond to inquiries about the status of their solar efforts.
Shea Homes, which has been using solar panels in its Trilogy line of age-restricted communities, will continue despite the temporary stop in incentives, said Hal Looney, area president for Shea Homes Trilogy Communities.
