Elliott Homes, American Solar Electric partner on Laveen project

Elliott Homes is including solar power as a standard feature on homes at two of its communities in Laveen through a partnership with American Solar Electric Inc. The companies held an opening ceremony Friday. This marks Elliott’s first Valley foray into solar, although the company has started four projects in Yuma with American Solar. Harry Elliott III, president of Elliott Homes, said the move toward solar is in response to buyers wanting more energy-efficient homes. The homes in the Estate Series at Riverwalk and Parke at Laveen will come equipped with either a 2.52- or 2.73-kilowatt solar system that will save the owners between $507 and $549 a year. Scottsdale-based American Solar has a number of partnerships with builders to install solar power systems on new homes. The company will design and install the systems.
