Pinal panel rejects major project near Casa Grande

The Pinal County Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday recommended that the Board of Supervisors deny a request by Traviano Partners LLC for what some commissioners described as a 912-acre city to be developed two miles southwest of Casa Grande. The vote was 5-1 with Commissioner Gordon Brown voting against the motion to deny and Commissioner Dixon Faucette abstaining. The supervisors will make the final decision on the major comprehensive plan amendment zoning change.
