I-10 widening project begins in Casa Grande area

Starting Monday night, Interstate 10 will narrow to one lane in both directions between Junction Interstate 8 and State Route 87, east of Casa Grande. The road work begins at 7 p.m. and lasts until 6 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings, until March. The Arizona Department of Transportation says drivers should allow extra travel time between Phoenix and Tucson. ADOT says the I-10 segment near Casa Grande will be widened from two lanes to three lanes in each direction to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety along the heavily traveled corridor.
