Manpower: Positive signs for Phoenix job market

The Phoenix job market is expected to improve somewhat during the first quarter of 2011. Human resources firm Manpower said today it expects Phoenix to show improvement on the hiring front next year. Manpower surveyed 18,000 employers across the U.S. including in the Valley. The local results show 18 percent of Phoenix area companies plan to hire next year. Only 6 percent expect to cut jobs. Another 73 percent say they will maintain current payroll levels. That gives the Phoenix area one of the stronger hiring pictures in the U.S., according to Manpower. The survey does not indicate what level of pay and benefits the jobs entail.
