Shea Homes gets SRP designation for energy efficiency
Shea Homes has received a PowerWise Homes designation from Salt River Project, a recognition of the company’s increased
methods of conserving energy.
The program was developed by SRP in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s EnergyStar ratings. It offers specific
parameters under which equipment such as water heaters, heat pumps and air conditioning units can be used and what designation they
can carry. The designation also requires a duct seal and leak inspection, an insulation inspection, and conformation on the ratings of the
appliances used in the home.
Shea has been looking to produce more energy-efficient homes. It started
