Jasper Contractors hiring 300 in Phoenix

Baton Rouge-based Jasper Contractors Inc. is hiring 300 Phoenix workers as it expands its construction business to the Valley. Jasper will hold a pair of job fairs. The first will be held Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites Phoenix Airport, 3220 South 48th St. The second will be held Jan. 20 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Doubletree Guest Suites, 320 N. 44th St. in Phoenix. The positions being hired for include office staff, construction workers and installation personnel. “These will be employees. Not subcontractors, not independent sales people,” said Jasper CEO Brian Wedding. “We want to attract all the skilled construction workers we can during the housing industry downturn to be ready for an inevitable upturn in new housing markets.” The company primarily builds roofs.
