Architecture billings are jumping; return to RE invest can't be far away
Why does publication aimed to serve the business intelligence needs of people in residential construction (i.e. this one) concern itself with the American Institute of Architects: Architecture Billings Index, whose purview is non-residential, commercial and industrial projects? Good question. The answer is that the AIA has proven the trajectory of the index tracks ahead of commercial real estate investment, which includes loans and investments in residential builders and developments. A leading indicator is leading toward the conclusion that banks and investors soon -- i.e. about mid-year to third quarter -- won't be laughing at the sight of home builders who are looking for project financing, revolvers, AC&D. Good news.
