New Peoria hospital will employ 250

Visionary Health LLC, which operates Gilbert Hospital, is planning to break ground next week on a hospital in Peoria. The 40-bed Peoria Regional Medical Center will employ about 250 people when it opens in summer 2012. The hospital will be built on a 47-acre campus on North Lake Pleasant Road. Phase One will have 78,000 square feet of space on 10 acres. It will include 20 emergency department beds and 20 inpatient beds. It also will have two operating rooms and two oversized resuscitation rooms. The architect is SWA and the general contractor on Phase One is Layton Construction. Sheelagh Lindberg is the project manager.
