CAC Board of Governors approves purchase of 208-acres for campus

The Central Arizona College Board of Governors approved the recommendation by the CAC administration to purchase approximately 208 acres of land in the San Tan Valley for construction of the college’s new campus in the area. The approval occurred during the board’s monthly meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 16, on the Signal Peak Campus. CAC President Dennis Jenkins The property is located on the northeast corner of Bella Vista Road and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, approximately one mile east of the Bella Vista-Ganzel Road (Ironwood Road) intersection, and roughly two miles east of the Hunt Highway-Bella Vista Road intersection at Johnson Ranch. “This is another milestone for Central Arizona College as we continue our mission of expanding educational opportunities and creating accessibility to higher education for the communities of Pinal County,” President Dennis Jenkins said. “With the construction of our new Maricopa Campus about to begin, and the purchase of this property in the San Tan Valley, CAC will have five full-service campuses located throughout Pinal County.” Formerly farm land, CAC’s San Tan Valley property strategically locates the campus in the Bell Vista Road corridor with easy access to Hunt Highway, as well as Ganzel/Ironwood Road that has direct access to Route 60 in the northern part of the county.
