Phoenix Mart working on ADOT OK

The Arizona Department of Transportation has had several questions about traffic associated with the proposed Phoenix Mart project on the east side of Interstate 10. The developers told the Casa Grande City Council they are sure that all questions will be answered satisfactorily and that there shouldn’t be problems. In two letters, ADOT, which controls Arizona 287, or Florence Boulevard, spelled out some of its concerns, including, in short: -- Peak traffic times need to be analyzed, including those vehicle trips from the development along Arizona 287 to the east, including the Eleven Mile Corner Road intersection. It was also noted that there were “large discrepancies” in traffic volumes between the study submitted by the developers and one done earlier for ADOT. -- ADOT questioned a developer statement that “two new interchanges are planned on I-10 at Kleck Road and Selma Highway which will facilitate access to the site.” While planning is under way for a new interchange at Selma, ADOT replied, the agency “has no plans to scope, design or construct an interchange on I-10 at Kleck Road.”
